Monday March 7th,
Today was dedicated to  work on the orphanage.  Currently there are several projects going on at the orphanage including constructing a bakery, painting the walls, and redoing the flowerbeds.  We split our group into three smaller groups and helped to work on these projects for a large portion of day. New Hope is currently trying to make their grounds more cleanly and appealing to continue to create a comfortable environment for the kids. Eventually, they hope to use the bakery as a means to make the home more self-sustainable.
Another of the main projects for today was to make meals to eat with the kids. We split up into 5 groups and were assigned to an age group of boys or girls to eat with and spend time with. We went to a local market to buy our ingredients, and we prepared our meals in our groups and ate with the kids.
We also held a track and field clinic today with the kids. We led them in warm up stretches (which they found hilarious), and in an obstacle course, shuttle relays, and the standing long jump. After each event we led a short devotional for the kids to help them relate their interests in sports with their relationship with God. The clinic was a blast, and everyone really enjoyed it.
